Welcome to the new home of photographer and forester, Alex Short.
I'm an 19-year old college sophomore studying safety and health management at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington, USA.
I hope to get a job with a major construction firm as a site safety guy or at a mine as a safety guy after college.
I'm an eagle scout and a black belt in taekwondo. In my free time besides doing photo shoots with friends, I to be outside. Snowmobiling and 4-wheeling are 2 of my favorite activities.
Art is my passion and my life and my blood. I CANNOT live without art in any form. Music included. However photography is my passion. I've been serious about it since mid-2008 and received my Canon EOS T1i for christmas in 2009 and love doing photo shoots. Anytime I can I'll go out and either do nature shoots, or portrait shoots with my friends. Or I may do still life's in my room.
Feel free to ask me anything, I'd love to get to know you.

People on the internet: Omg! You're so pretty and nice! Someone would be lucky to have you!
People in real life: Here comes the awkward whale.
when i’m at school:
when people insult me:
when i’m at home:
when i’m with my friends:
when i think about my life:
when i try to flirt with someone:
when i see someone i’m secretly crushing on:
when i look at my grades:
and when the day is finally over:
D’awwwwwwwwww. Thanks! :) That means a lot to me.
This is the view from a boomlift basket. Boomlifts are used on construction sites to reach high places. Its basically a ladder on steroids and wheels that you don’t have to climb.
So you how they always say an average college student will change their major 2 to 3 times before finding their actual major, well thats happening to me. I ended my freshman year, last spring as a graphic design major only. Then ended the year the idea to double major in graphic design and construction management. Now I have decided to major in Safety and Health Management (SHM) focusing on Construction Safety, then minoring in either art or social services. Now you might wondering why this big change in my major, so I will give you the reasons why. 1) Central Washington University is one of only TWO schools that offer the SHM program within the western states. The other one being Montana Tech I believe. 2) Lots of job opportunities, meaning I have like a 99% chance of getting a job upon graduation. 3) Starting pay at like $45,000 - $50,000 a year, and the possibility of making six figures later in life. 4) Office work as well as field work, but mainly field work. I do NOT wanna be in a cubicle ALL day every day. 5)The opportunity to make sure working conditions are safe and EVERY worker goes home alive, whole, and well EVERYDAY. So I think that’s about it. I know a lot of my watchers want me to go into graphic design, but I need to do whats best for me, and in reality this is something I know I will enjoy, and benefit from in the long run. :)
Simple but so true. If you do not appreciate all the little things in life then how are you supposed to live?
